Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on December 19, Stacy Comp, Visa Chief at the US Embassy in Accra, acknowledged the issue and reassured host Bernard Avle of the embassy’s dedication to resolving the bottlenecks. She emphasized that the embassy is working closely with its third-party contractor to investigate the delays and expedite pending applications.

“I will request a comprehensive list of students in the expedited visa queue and examine their cases to see how we can accommodate their requests,” Comp said. She also apologized for the inconvenience caused and highlighted the importance of bilateral educational exchanges in strengthening US-Ghana relations.

The embassy’s proactive response aims to ease the concerns of affected students and ensure they can pursue their academic opportunities in the United States without further delays. Applicants are hopeful for swift action as the embassy works to resolve the challenges.
