Maame Dokono Reflects on Waakye’s Untimely Death, Expresses Concern Over Her Own Fate.

Veteran actress Grace Omaboe, known as Maame Dokono, has expressed fear of passing away suddenly, similar to the late actor Prince Yawson, popularly known as Waakye. Speaking on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning show, Maame Dokono recounted Waakye’s death, attributing it to a mistake made by someone.

She described Waakye’s passing as sudden, noting that she had spoken to him on the morning of his death, only to learn of his demise that evening. The news deeply affected her, leading her to fear that her own death might be similar.

Waakye, a beloved figure in the Ghanaian movie industry, passed away on August 2, 2022, after being rushed to the 37 Military Hospital. Maame Dokono previously revealed that Waakye had initially been taken to Ridge Hospital but was transferred to the 37 Military Hospital due to a lack of beds.

Reflecting on their time together on the popular ‘Obra’ TV series, Maame Dokono expressed a wish for all actors, including Waakye and Richard Kwame Agyeman (Odompo), to return. Despite her fears, Maame Dokono expressed a desire to live as long as her mother, who lived to be 115 years old. She believes that with proper care, she can achieve a similar lifespan.
