Locally-Assembled Virtus Joins The Volkswagen Ghana Lineups

Volkswagen Ghana has introduced the Volkswagen Virtus to the Ghanaian automotive market, adding to its lineup of locally-assembled vehicles, including the Teramont, Tiguan Allspace, and T-Cross. The Virtus, part of the Polo lineup, aims to enhance the driving experience for Ghanaian customers with its sleek design and advanced technology, catering to discerning drivers who demand excellence.

At a pre-launch event in Accra, CEO Jeffrey J. O. Preprah highlighted the Virtus’s standout features, such as its striking exterior design, wireless phone charger, touch screen interface, and economical fuel consumption, all tailored to meet market demands and economic considerations. He also announced the upcoming launch of the new Amarok pickup truck and the Tiguan Allspace SUV, both designed to cater to various needs with safety features, digital cockpit technology, and powerful engines.

Reflecting on Volkswagen’s journey in Ghana, Preprah emphasized the company’s resilience and determination, especially during challenging times such as the COVID-19 pandemic. He reiterated Volkswagen’s commitment to delivering what customers truly desire, promising a future filled with innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Volkswagen Virtus is available in two trim options, Topline and Highline, offering customers flexibility to choose a model that suits their preferences and needs.

Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Africa, Martina Biene, highlighted the Virtus’s assembly in Ghana by Ghanaians, demonstrating the company’s commitment to local production and diversity. She expressed confidence in Ghana’s potential as an automotive hub in West Africa, calling for the implementation of outstanding policy elements to unlock the local market and facilitate trade with neighboring countries.
