Early Life and Education of Lydia Yaako Donkor
A proud alumna of Wesley Girls’ Senior High School, Lydia Yaako Donkor pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Political Science at the University of Ghana, followed by a Barrister-at-Law qualification at the Ghana School of Law. She further specialized in International and Human Rights Law, earning an LLM from the University of Leeds, UK.
The Career Highlights of Lydia Yaako Donkor
From starting her career as a lawyer at Acquah-Sampson & Associates to offering pro bono legal services to underprivileged communities, DCOP Donkor transitioned seamlessly into the Ghana Police Service. Her roles have included:
- Head of Legal & Prosecutions in multiple regions
- Divisional and District Commander of Tesano, Accra
- United Nations Police Officer (UNPOL) in Liberia
Currently, as the most senior lawyer in the Ghana Police Service, she serves as Director-General of the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB).
