NACOC Seizes 16.4kg of Cannabis at Airport


The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) arrested a 46-year-old woman at the Swissport Consolidated Cargo section of Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra. The arrest followed intelligence-led operations that uncovered 30 slabs of compressed cannabis, weighing 16.4 kilograms, concealed among the suspect’s personal effects in cargo consigned to her.

NACOC operatives intercepted the packages based on specific intelligence, leading to the discovery of the illicit substances. The woman was promptly taken into custody and is currently assisting authorities with ongoing investigations to determine the source and intended destination of the cannabis.
