Grace Mensah Fights for Life After Violent Attack by Partner
Grace Mensah, a 53-year-old woman, is in critical condition at St. Francis Hospital in Assin Fosu, Ghana, following a brutal assault by her 25-year-old fiancée, Arhinful. The incident occurred on May 7, 2025, at their home in Assin Wurakese, reportedly triggered by a disagreement over the quantity of goat meat prepared for a meal.
According to Priscilla Boakye, Grace’s daughter, Arhinful brought goat meat home for Grace to cook. Dissatisfied with the portion served, he allegedly attacked Grace, grabbing her throat and beating her severely. The assault resulted in a leg fracture, exacerbating a nearly healed wound when Arhinful stepped on it. A passerby’s intervention likely prevented further harm.
Grace, unable to speak since the attack, was dropped off at her residence by Arhinful, who then fled. Priscilla revealed that Arhinful, known for smoking and alcohol use, had previously abused her mother. Despite the age gap, Grace remained in the relationship, reportedly drawn to Arhinful’s youthful energy.
The family is now urging police to apprehend Arhinful, who remains at large, and bring him to justice. Grace’s critical condition has heightened their call for swift action, as they seek accountability for the repeated abuse she has endured.
