I Can Now See – Kofi Adoma
Ghanaian broadcaster Kofi Adoma Nwanwani provided an update on his health in a YouTube video on May 22, 2025, following a shooting injury to his eye on December 21, 2024. The incident occurred during the Kwafie Festival in Dormaa Ahenkro, Bono Region, at the 25th-anniversary celebration of Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II.
Adoma was struck in the face by a musket shot fired by a chief’s bodyguard during a traditional display. He received initial treatment at Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital and Berekum Holy Family Hospital before being flown to Dubai for advanced care, sponsored by businessman Ibrahim Mahama.
In his update, Adoma revealed that his vision, though not fully restored, has improved significantly, allowing him to see and read with adjustments. He noted that medical scans show residual particles in his eye, which he must live with temporarily.
Adoma expressed gratitude to Mahama for his generosity, including an offer to use his private jet, and thanked numerous donors and supporters. He promised to address controversies surrounding the incident in future videos and affirmed his commitment to recovery.
