President Mahama Renews Saboba Curfew Amid Security Concerns
The Ministry of the Interior has announced the renewal of the curfew in Saboba Township and its surrounding areas in the Northern Region by President John Dramani Mahama.
According to a statement dated January 15, 2025, and signed by the Chief Director of the Ministry, the curfew will now be enforced from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM daily, effective immediately. This decision, issued by Executive Instrument, aims to address ongoing security concerns in the area.
The government has called on Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, and Youth in the community to remain calm and use peaceful, non-violent methods to address challenges affecting the area. The statement emphasized the importance of collective efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability.
Additionally, a total ban has been placed on the possession of arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons within Saboba and its environs. Authorities have warned that anyone found violating this directive will face arrest and prosecution.
