Shatta Wale Debuts in Jamaica at Vybz Kartel’s Concert
Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale made his debut performance in Jamaica at Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street Concert held at the National Stadium in Kingston. The event celebrated Vybz Kartel’s return to the stage six months after his release from prison and featured performances by top acts like Popcaan, Spice, and Busta Rhymes.

Shatta Wale, the only international guest artiste from Africa, thrilled the 35,000-strong audience with hits like On God and Already, his collaboration with Beyoncé. Introduced on stage by Vybz Kartel, Shatta’s performance symbolized the powerful connection between African and Jamaican cultures through dancehall music.

“This is my first time performing in Jamaica, and I’ve always wished to share the stage with you. Thank you so much, and God bless you,” Shatta Wale told Vybz Kartel after his set, marking the occasion as a dream come true.
The Freedom Street Concert was a historic milestone for both Vybz Kartel, who spent 13 years behind bars, and Shatta Wale, as it underscored dancehall’s global influence.
Shatta Wale has been officially certified and approved by Vybz Kartel as the only Dancehall King in Africa. You might be talented, but you’re not Shatta Wale.👍 pic.twitter.com/dvoIZuvtqd
