According to the police, the incident happened early on Sunday when the accused broke into the house of Dr. Sunil Pandey in the Indiranagar area. He was heavily drunk at the time and when he spotted the AC in one of the rooms, he switched it on and fell asleep.

Dr. Pandey was out of town and his neighbors knew about it, so when they saw that the front gate of his house was open, they immediately contacted him, and the doctor informed the police.

The police arrived to find the accused sleeping comfortably on the floor with a cushion under his head and the air conditioner turned on. DCP North Zone R Vijay Shankar told India Today that the man entered the house with the intention of stealing but fell asleep.

“He was heavily drunk because of which he fell asleep and could not wake up. It was reported by the neighbors, after which he was arrested,” he said, adding that further action would be taken against him.
