Apostle Lilian Kumah Urges Police to Investigate Claims Made by TV Presenter.

Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, the wife of the late Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah, has called on media personality Captain Smart to provide clarification regarding his allegations that her husband was poisoned.

In an official complaint lodged with the Ghana Police Service, Apostle Lilian has requested that Captain Smart substantiates his claims about the circumstances leading to her husband’s death. She expressed concern that these allegations are adding to their distress and called them “misinforming and unfortunate.”

Captain Smart had claimed during a live TV program that the late Deputy Finance Minister, who passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, had been severely affected by food poisoning. He also suggested that Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was another potential target.

Apostle Lilian’s statement emphasized the need for an investigation into these claims to clarify the speculative narrative surrounding her husband’s death.

The widow’s actions underscore the importance of responsible journalism and the need to verify information before making serious allegations that can impact individuals and their families.
