Plus-Sized Rapper Sues Lyft Over Alleged Discrimination

A plus-sized rapper, Dank Demoss—who proudly identifies as a BBW (Big Beautiful Woman)—has filed a lawsuit against Lyft after a driver allegedly refused to let her ride due to her weight.

Demoss, also known as Dajua Blanding, claims the incident occurred in Detroit earlier this month when the driver arrived in a Mercedes-Benz, locked his doors, and told her she was “too big” for his car. The driver, identified as Ibrahim, argued that his vehicle lacked sufficient space and that his tires wouldn’t support the weight.

The exchange, which Demoss filmed and posted on social media, quickly went viral, garnering over 340,000 views on TikTok. “I’ve been in cars smaller than that,” she told FOX2 after filing the lawsuit. “It hurt my feelings.”

Lyft has since responded to the controversy, stating that they “unequivocally condemn all forms of discrimination” and emphasizing that their policies prohibit harassment or bias. However, they declined to comment on ongoing litigation.

As the legal battle unfolds, the case has sparked a broader conversation about size discrimination and accessibility in rideshare services.
