The 2024 GUSA games table tennis competition came to a thrilling conclusion, with Esther Nyantakyiwaa of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) emerging victorious in the Women’s Singles category.
In a dominant display, Esther defeated Agnes Coleman of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) 3-0, (11-4, 11-4, 11-4).
Esther’s impressive performance was characterized by her exceptional rallying skills, which left her opponent struggling to cope. Her mastery of both backhand and forehand techniques proved too much for Agnes, who despite her best efforts, was unable to break through.
Agnes Coleman of UCC had a disappointing day, as her usually reliable serves and attacks failed to yield the desired results. Despite her valiant efforts, she was unable to match Esther’s skill and precision, ultimately succumbing to a 3-0 defeat.
Esther’s win marked a proud moment for UEW, as the university celebrated its victory in the Women’s Singles.
According to her, the win is a testament to the hard work and dedication of her coaches and management efforts.
“This is not only for me but for my coaches and management as well. They played critical roles in this, and I am excited and grateful. This win will push me to do more,” she said.
The 2024 GUSA games table tennis competition has come to a close, but the memories of Esther Nyantekyiwa’s impressive victory will linger on.
