Oscar-winner Murphy set to reprise iconic role in a highly anticipated film continuation of the hit series

Netflix has announced a Peaky Blinders film with Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy playing his iconic role as Tommy Shelby. This was confirmed on Netflix’s X account along with a photo of the script. Murphy, who will co-produce the film, expressed his excitement, saying,

It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me…It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”

The BBC drama, showed from 2013 to 2022, with Birmingham gangsters in the early 20th century. Murphy played the lead role throughout the six-season run, with numerous awards including a Bafta for Best Drama Series in 2018.
